Quest Board

A “where was I?” board that turns scattered AI conversations into quests I can pick up again.

A 28-second loop told as a pixel-art RPG. A hooded adventurer stands at a guild hall notice board: where was I? In an archive of five glowing doorways full of scrolls: five AI apps, which one was it? The scene breaks into pixel tiles and becomes the Quest Board app: it reads every AI tool right on my Mac, groups the work into one quest per project, and one button, Open here, goes back in. The tiles burst into a workshop at dawn where the work was left: right where I left off. Quests are dummy; screens are illustrated; scenes are AI-generated.
How it works. Quests are dummy and the screens illustrated; the painted scenes are AI-generated.

How it works

  1. 01

It reads the history from every AI tool I use, right on my Mac.

  2. 02

It groups the work into quests, one per project, with what happened last.

  3. 03

One button takes me back to where I left off.

Why I built it

Coming back to a project meant digging through five apps to find the right conversation. I wanted the answer to “what was I doing?” on one screen.

What I learned

  • Plan first and write the tests first, and a team of AI agents can build a working first version overnight.
  • A fresh reviewer at the end catches what step-by-step checks miss.
  • The retro game look isn’t just for fun: a quest log is a good shape for unfinished work.
One quest's detail panel: activity level, the last request, a note box and the agents that worked on it. Fictional demo data.
